SYNOPSIS
Comedy/3 males, 2 females
Greetings takes place on Christmas Eve in the Gorski home in Pittsburgh PA. The year is 1990. Andy has a sweet Catholic mother, a sour Catholic father and an intellectually-challenged younger brother named Mickey. When he brings his Jewish atheist fiancee home to meet the folks on Christmas Eve, his worst fears about family blow ups are realized. But Mickey, whose entire vocabulary is "oh boy" and "wow," suddenly says "Greetings!"
An ancient, wise and witty spirit who is set upon healing the family has borrowed Mickey's body.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
(3 males, 2 females)

The ages below are suggested ages of characters.
Andy is older than Mickey and Randi should be younger than or close to Andy’s age.
EMILY GORSKI, 60’s or older. Andy and Mickey’s mother, Catholic and a little hard of hearing. She radiates warmth and cheerfulness and is the long-suffering peacemaker of the family.
PHIL GORSKI, 60’s or older. Andy and Mickey’s father, a devout Catholic, who is self-righteous and judgmental (an Archie Bunker grumpy old-man type). He limps noticeably, moves with the aid of a cane and is constantly griping to himself.
MICKEY GORSKI, mid-20’s through… Emily and Phil’s younger son. He is intellectually challenged with a mental age of 3 years old. His vocabulary consists of only a small handful of words. He is consistently good natured. His character undergoes a miraculous transformation during the course of the show. The role requires some physicality and the ability to play two very distinct characters in the same body.
ANDY GORSKI, late 20’s or early 30’s through….must be older than Mickey. He is Emily and Phil’s older son, lives in New York City and is in Advertising. He is straightforward, plain-speaking and dreading the introduction of his fiancee to his parents. He has a contentious relationship with his father.
RANDI STEIN, mid-20’s through…must be younger or of comparable age with Andy. She is Andy’s new fiancee, of Jewish heritage, but thinks of herself as an atheist. She is outspoken and matter of fact. Serves as a foil to Phil.
