Meet the Director - RICHIE LESTER

SYNOPSIS

Our Town is an epic three-act play written by Thornton Wilder and described by Edward Albee as "the greatest American play ever written." It depicts the fictional American town of Grover's Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens. The main characters include the “stage manager” who directly addresses the audience and serves as the audience’s guide throughout the show, along with two prominent local families – the Gibbs and the Webbs. First produced and published in 1938 to wide acclaim, Our Town serves as an allegorical representation of American life, a play whose simple and timeless themes have never been more relevant than they are today. A true American classic that only gets better with time, it remains a play that should be on the bucket list of every aspiring actor and theatre lover.
