A playground altercation between eleven-year-old boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.

ALAN RALEIGH (40s) Alan is a lawyer, employed by a pharmaceutical company that is experiencing troubles due to a medication they have released and its catastrophic  side-effects. He spends most of the play more attentive to his cell phone than to the discussion of the matter of the boys'  altercation.  He is somewhat pompous and generally disengaged from his family.

ANNETTE RALEIGH (40sAnnette works in "wealth management", and like Alan she holds herself as somewhat elite.  Unlike Alan, however, she is considerably more engaged with her family and has a lot of empathy for her son.  Annette apparently suffers from a nervous stomach.

MICHAEL NOVAK (40s) Michael owns and operates a wholesale business which markets household goods - typically very mundane items.  He is perhaps slightly self-conscious about this.  His dedication to parenting is somewhat less than that of his wife Veronica. He also has a strong aversion to small furry animals.

VERONICA NOVAK (40sVeronica is a writer specializing in the art, achaeology and culture of African nations; she has published articles on related topics and is working on a full volume.  She is proud collector of coffee-table books on art, and she takes great pride in the rarity of some of these.  Veronica is very attentive to the needs of her children.
